Our school organized a special Boston tour event for students. Why was this tour so special? Because it’s a Duck Tour, a special transportation that can take you both on the road and in the water. This special Duck Tour is primarily offered as a tourism attraction in harbor, river or lake in several cities in USA. We saw the Duck Tour bus several times nearby Boston Common, but never rode it. In Boston, there are two different ways of Duck Tour, one is original service to take tourists to Charles River, and another one is newly extended to the sea. When we left Boston, we never got a chance to try the new one but we luckily rode the special bus to the Charles River. It’s a extremely wonderful experience.
Museum of Science, Boston is the starting point of the Duck Tour. And we made a short visit in the lobby of the museum.
Our Duck Tour bus is converted from this retired US military truck DUKW (known as DUCK). DUKW was used in World War II by US army that can drive on the road as well as in the water.
We were on aboard. Our bus’s name is Kilroy, a Hawaii Duck.
Each Duck Tour bus has a special driver who is playing a special role. Our driver, a funny guy, is Mr. Howwaya from Hawaii. He is good at introducing attractions around us, creating an exciting atmosphere, such as making a duck voice to tell a joke and saying hi to pedestrians.
Forgot to take a picture for our own bus before getting on, but we saw the truck when we went to Chinatown before, same as ours with different colors, ours is in yellow.
Here we go.
Streets were so beautiful under the sunset .
We went into the water, now our bus turned to a boat. So magical!
We cannot take a picture for our boat, let me take for others’. What a great transportation, sometimes on the road sometimes in the water.
Charles River looks so beautiful so peaceful under the red sunset. That’s why our school specially booked the evening shift for us.
Boston City Skyline under the sunset, the blue skyscraper is the famous John Hancock Tower, a Boston Landmark, designed by I. M. Pei, a Chinese-born American architect. It has been the tallest building in Boston for more than 30 years and is the tallest building in New England. The special glass wall can reflect the beautiful sky of Boston. And the right skyscraper is a shopping mall, Prudential Center.
Playing yachts in the autumn wind under the sunset is super awesome.
