Our school was so kind to book a trolley bus tour for newcomers. We definitely did not want to miss this great chance to see the beautiful Boston completely and clearly. Although we went to downtown by bus several times, this time taking this special trolley bus to do a city tour was quite a fun and new experience for us.
You can see trolley buses running in most metropolitan cities. Normally tourists can buy an unlimited one-day pass from any trolley bus stations near popular travel spots in downtown Boston. It’s hop on/hop off bus tour. That means you can get on or get off at any trolley bus station whenever you want. It’s the easiest way to do a city tour. Our trolley bus was typically assigned to our school. So this bus picked us up from our off-campus orientation center in Newton, MA. This lovely trolley bus was full of excited new students like us.
Let’s start to see our beautiful city Boston.
Street view from our window
TD Garden is the home arena for Boston Bruins and Boston Celtics. But we still have no chance to get in to see a match.
Boston Financial District and Shopping Center
This is Berklee College of Music, which many famous artists graduated from, such as PARK JAE SANG and Leehom Wang.
I think Massachusetts Avenue is the best place to see the downtown Boston city skyline. Charles River running from our town Waltham to Boston Harbor is going under the bridge.
Massachusetts State House in Beacon Hill Historic District next to Boston Common
Boston is a little bit like Shanghai, a city blending antique into modern.
A vintage building Boston train station – South Station, the gate to Boston Financial District
Bay area that we just went to several days ago for Boston Harbor Cruise
Old State House, one of famous travel spots in Boston
We got off at Quincy Market, a historic market complex near Faneuil Hall in downtown Boston, including a farmers’ market, a food court, a shopping mall and gift shops.
Boston is home to several major league sports teams, including Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins, New England Patriots and New England Revolution. And universities in Greater Boston Area are very active. Sports are a major part of Boston culture. A small talk about sports is always welcomed. Today must be a Red Sox’s home match. Look at the sky, the Red Sox fans are showing their support.
Here is the google map showing the route of our trolley bus.
